Olympia Brown

Through my lectures, my church services and my writing, I am dedicated to sharing with the world the inspiring story of this remarkable woman. She was the first woman in America to be ordained by a full denomination, the Universalist, she was an indefatigable campaigner for women’s education and career choices, she was a heroic worker for Woman Suffrage and she was one of the original members of the International League for Peace and Freedom. In addition, she was fortunate enough to have a felicitous marriage and to raise a son and a daughter. Her letters and papers are at the Schlessinger Library at the Radcliffe Institute in Cambridge Massachusetts.
